I have a brand new 24 inch iMac. I want to hook it up to a ViewSonic projector. I use to have a small little pig tail connector/adapter but the port on the back of the new iMac has changed, it is a bit smaller.

What would you call that port or cable?

Thanks.

It's called Mini DisplayPort.

What kind of input does your projector have? Apple sells adapters from Mini DP to both VGA and DVI. You can also connect to HDMI or DisplayPort with third-party adapters.

HDMI Cable, Home Theater Accessories, HDMI Products, Cables, Adapters, Video/Audio Switch, Networking, USB, Firewire, Printer Toner, and more!

These guys make the same cables (with more options) AND they're better built than Apples. I've had countless Apple display adapters fray and break, but these guys make good cables. They're also a lot cheaper than Apple.
