Hi,

My parents have a trusty eMac which they are hoping to replace in the coming months with something much newer (MacBook probably).

However, they would like to get an all-in-one printer, scanner, copier and fax as their 15yr old fax machine has finally died and the aging Epson 740 printer is really now playing up.

We can get a good price on an Epson BX300F locally, which would seem ideal for my parents, but my only concern is if the new BX300F would be compatible with the USB 1 ports on the eMac.

Could someone please let me know either way?

Thanks, as always,

Matthew

In theory, it should work. Speed is the main difference between USB1 and USB2. The protocol is the same (or backwards compatible).

Yes, USB is fully backwards-compatible.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.
