I suddenly lost the use of keys e,o,d, return and a few others, its a wired aluminum keyboard connected to a G5 imac, the keyboard USB ports stopped working last week also.
Im sure I read about resetting the keyboard ages ago but cant find the info now

I dont have a spare keyboard to try but I think its more software related?

Any help appreciated

Reset the keyboard? I think you're grasping at straws. Try cleaning it out first (compressed air under the keys) and try it on another computer. If its USB ports are dead, and unplugging and replugging in the keyboard doesn't fix it, that keyboard is probably on its way out.

As a last thing to try, put your keyboard in the dishwasher and run it through a regular dish washer cycle.

It brought back to life my old Apple keyboard that looks like this (it's not an aluminum one)

WARNING: chances are that it will kill your keyboard completely. So only try this before you're going to toss it anyways.

I dont think it will be going in the dishwasher

I havnt tried taking it apart or cleaning it as I dont think its the keyboard at fault, it happened while I was using the computer, all of a sudden several keys stopped working

Ive now noticed when turning the machine on, wherever the curser is it repeats o and wont stop unless I press the o key, it then stops working. Also, a random file on the desktop will be highlighted and I cant highlight anything else as it just snaps back to the original file, I can double click and open other files but the highlight still returns to the original file
