I have an iMac in one room and a MacBook in the adjacent room. Whichever machine is turned on first gets the Apple BT mouse and keyboard. This is annoying because I have the BT mouse/keyboard as the only input to the iMac so if I turn on the MacBook first and the iMac later, it cannot connect to the devices. I always have to go to the other room, shut down the MacBook, then restart the MacBook later. Is there a way to force the MacBook to ignore the two BT devices all the time?

So many solutions: turn off BT on the machine you don't want them to connect to, or simply turn off BT discovery, or remove the devices from the device list in BT preferences.

Steve
Guess I finally got that fifth star!

Thanks, Steve. I don't know why I never noticed the Bluetooth button in System Prefs. Always done everything through Mouse/keyboard.
