My Mac (OSX) prints fine from all programs but Word for Mac. It prints in a light grey when using Word. I'm using a HP Deskjet D4360 Printer. "Draft" is not checked. I've updated Word and the printer driver. We had someone who was over with a Mac notebook print to the printer from her Word (across the network). Same problem. Can for the life of me figure it out a.. If anyone has any ideas, feel free to pass them on.

As a test, in the Print dialog, have you tried printing in grayscale, as opposed to color?

Thanks for your suggestion. Unfortunately, when I click on Print in Word for Mac, I don't see much in the Print Dialog. For instance, I can't click on quality there or on grey scale. I can do all of that on my PC in Word. The Dialog boxes are very different. Where would I find this in Word for Mac? Note: I tested the printer printing a full color picture in a photo program. It came out quite wonderful. And I printed a couple of lines using Mac's text editor. No problem.

File > Print... (or just do cmd-P)
That will give you the Print dialog pop-up. Click on the "Copies & Pages" drop-down and scroll down to "Paper Type/Quality". There you can set the output variables like Quality and Color.

Found it, thanks, and set it up as you suggested. Unfortunately, that did not work. If the printer did not work with other programs, I'd think the ink was low or it was malfunctioning, but it continue to work with other programs. If you have any other thoughts, I am all ears. If not, I may have to resort to calling a techie, which would probably cost more than the printer cost!

Paul. When you say you don't see much in the print dialog box from Word, have you tried "Expanding" the dialog box. First of all. Don't print by using the "Print" icon in word. Instead go up to the menu at the top of the screen in word, and select "File" then Select Print. This should bring up a Print Dialog Box. There should be a little blue triangle to the right of the drop down menu that shows your printers name. If you click that blue triangle button, it will show you more options in the print dialog box. Different printers have different options, but this is at least how you can access the print dialog box. Also.. double check your settings in the "Page Set-up" Menu. Double check the page type menu from that Screen. It's also under the "File" menu.

i selected "File" then Print and saw a Print Dialog Box and saw more options in the print dialog box. Someone else with a Mac using Word accessed the printer across our network - same issue.

When you say "double check your settings in the "Page Set-up" Menu" - what would I be looking for? Or is this another way to do the same thing?
