After upgrading to 3.0, I noticed a pattern of video noise on the screen during the boot up sequence. It's a checkerboard pattern of animated grey static that looks like you've lost your cable signal. You can still see the boot images happening in the background and this disappears after the booting finishes. Has anyone else seen this and if so, is there a way to eliminate it?

My ATV is connected to my television with HDMI going through a Denon AV receiver.

Thanks,
Paul

What happens if you go directly from ATV to the TV, without going through the receiver?

I haven't tried bypassing the AV receiver. I will try that and see if that affects this.

Any word?

I'm asking cuz a coworker of mine just got a Denon receiver (AVR-1910) and it's causing really awful color banding. When the video sources are connected directly to the TV, the banding goes away.

I am out of town so haven't been able to try this yet. My AV receiver is also Denon. I hope this isn't what is causing this.

Yeah, that's exactly why I brought it up!

Well, I finally was able to try a direct connection from the ATV to my television and I see the same video noise this way when it boots. Seems specific to the upgrade to 3.0 (and 3.1). I'm surprised no one else has reported this issue. Am I the only one seeing this?

No video issues here. I've got my ATV directly connected via component video to an LCD projector.

Then I wonder if it could be HDMI related.
