I'm in the market for a good all-in-one printer, and if possible, one with CD/DVD printing capabilities as well. Any suggestions?

I like what I've read about the HP Premium Fax C309. Let me know if you have any experience with that one.

The printer will be used in a small/home office, mostly for small/medium duty tasks.

On a related note (re: CD/DVD printing), what software would you recommend for the disc printing? What about BeLight's Disc Cover? Cheaper (or free) alternatives?

Thanks in advance!

Epson px650 (I think). There's a couple of epsons that can do this. I'm not terribly fond of the hps, and cd printing is something they've never been particularly keen on supporting.

The Canon MP series should be able to do this as well.

I've had very good results with the Epson Artisan 800 in regards to CD/DVD printing.

Epson apparently has a US patent on printing directly to discs. Which disappoints me because Epson printers disappoint me. If they didn't have something special like this, I wouldn't bother with Epsons any more at all...

I've used a lot of stuff to print labels, from Neato's software (which currently does support OS X) to basic Word templates. I think the software you use would mostly depend on what you want out of it and what you're willing to put into it. It's not hard to make labels that "don't suck too badly," but if you want really great looking stuff with graphics and all sorts of text effects, it's a good idea to get (and pay for!) a real disk label program that supports what you're planning on using (graphic formats, filters, etc.).

I have an Epson RX595 that I really like. The print quality is amazing, and it does full-color prints very quickly.

Just beware of how expensive good inkjet cartridges cost, and if you want quality-looking printed discs, buy ones that have a quality printing surface.

Epson printers come with an application for printing images onto discs. I prefer to make my disc labels in Photoshop and then import them in as images to the Epson application, rather than using the Epson app to make the actual label layout and whatnot.
For all the trash I talk, I sure own a lot of Macs...

Thanks for the replies.

I'm looking at the Epson Artisan all-in-one printers and may go with one of them.

I love my Artisan 800. But it drinks ink like a sponge. Make sure you get a CIS, it'll save you a fortune in ink.

What's a CIS?

Continuos Ink Supply. It will give you more than 10 times the ink for the same money.

$70 CIS compared to $700 in Epson cartridges.
