Just got on Snow leopard.
I have Brother 1440 HL laser printer.
Now on left side of all pages are some weird black marks.

It's a killer when sending labels with addresses.

I've downloaded a driver from their site they say is for 10.6

In my dock is an icon of the printer. I click on that, open tab printer set up, but driver version is still previous one, even though I've downloaded and intalled the new driver, and rebooted three times. what can I do? thanks!

It sounds more like a dirty printer, than a driver issue.

Are the marks *exactly* the same every time, or do they differ a bit on each page ?

How old is the printer ?

Print a blank page. Or include just one character.

Do you still get the marks ?

If yes, I highly suspect a dirty printer drum / role.

Have you connected the printer back to your Windows machine ?

Does it print *still* normal w/o marks ?

Problem is solved about the marks, I just moved left margins a bit. but the new driver, which I've downloaded and installed twice -- it's Number -- does not show in the printer interface still. It's display the old driver number still

I have never heard of a printer driver creating "marks" when the margins are set to far out.

Truly odd.

Forget out the marks, that is solved. I've never heard of that either, but it is happening. My next question is:

new driver, which I've downloaded and installed twice -- it's Number -- does not show in the printer interface still. It's display the old driver number still

Why does it matter ?

Does it work ? If yes, don't worry about the details.
