Hi everyone,

I still lament over the decision to dump my LaCie Electron Blue III 22" CRT monitor. It was approx 8 yrs old. I don't miss the bulk or the weight tho. I am now shopping for a good solid monitor to be used for graphics, retouching, etc. I need it to be a good size, sharp resolution, accurate color and not break the bank.

Any recommendations? What's good out there? What ones should be avoided?

HP has the LP2480zx (24" 1920x1200) for about $2500 for color critical work.

If you don't want widescreen there's the Eizo L997 (21" 1600x1200) for about $1750.

Depending on how hardcore you are the new U24 something something Dell that is like ~$500 looks to be pretty nice. IPS panel and all.
