Just taken delivery of first Mac Pro. What's the best way to backup?? Seems like the Time Capsules die, so would I be better backing up to an external drive?? All advice welcome.
Since you have a Mac Pro, you could add an internal drive for Time Machine use. The only advantage to an external would be if you plan to set your Mac Pro on fire at some point.
The rule of thumb for sizing a TM drive is to make it at least 50% bigger than the drive(s) you plan to back up.
OK, thanks for that, that is what I suspected but good to get some confirmation.
Extra internal drive is a good idea, will compare prices.
