I dislike the too small pad on my PBP .. and loved the Magic Mouse with this iMac Intel, but I got the finger friendly, iPad, so I thought the new Pad may be interesting. Upon opening, I thought it was too small.. but it works great?!

I am really pleased how intuitive it seems. I have used Macs since the 80's and the thing I like about Steve's stuff best, is that I do not need to RTFM to make things happen.

I loved (past tense) the Magic Mouse (did not like the teeny ball mouse) but now I do not fear the mouse falling off the desk because I am dragging it over too much real estate. This Trackpad sits in one spot and I can do everything without moving it. It also will not turn into a Roomba and get all gummed up from being dragged around.

Just 10sec ago, I tried two fingers... Woah?!

Apple scores - again!

PBP?

Is that a PowerBook/PB or a MacBook Pro/MBP? (Fair bit of different in size for the trackpads)

Hi Oisin .. I made an error: it is a 15" MacBook Pro. The pad on the MBP measures 5x10cm. This new TrackPad measures: 13 x13cm ..with a vertical working surface of 11cm. ..4x5" for the few of us who still use vintage numbering. Cheers.

I assume you are talking about the *Magic* Trackpad. Moving to Consumer Components.

Might as well have fused it with the other thread on the subject.

There's nothing here that warrants its own thread.

SH - Sorry to bore you ... I did not see another thread about it - in the iMac section.

I can add - after a day - that the Pad is a little sensitive for a Polish mule who still pounds nails with a hammer. There is 'touch' ..and 'click' ..it is a little confusing because I tend to make something happen before I expect it.

I will have to learn you do not need to pound it, like I type, but am not inclined to go back to the mouse. Simply having the pad in one spot vs. moving the mouse around is big progress.

That's because it doesn't belong in the iMac section.
