have a sony dcr-sx44 and the disc with it won't load on mac- any ideas to download the camera to my mac?

Use iMovie 9 to import the video.

It appears that the DCR-XS44 is not supported under OS X. While it "should" act like an external drive, Sony has a habit of not following the industry standard on things like this and then not writing a Mac driver.

Give iMovie a shot, but if it doesn't work, consider installing Windows XP through Boot Camp and installing Sony's driver on that. I have a Sony voice recorder that also needs a Windows driver and that's the process I used.

Google says it works in iMovie 9.
