Our campus has a closed circuit TV system, we have coax to all the rooms. We just had HD TVs installed in most of the rooms and want to broadcast in HD. Currently we just have a VGA to RF converter box with the computer hooked up to it.

The only equipment we could find was broadcast TV quality equipment that cost thousands of dollars. I mean, don't get me wrong, it's really nice. It'll take 8 different video sources and you the fade handle thingy that lets you transition between any two different sources, but it's out of our budget range.

Anyone know of a more school budget friendly box for us to accomplish this task?

We have a Mac Mini Server that pumps out all our video, as well has a very nice HD digital camera that was donated (it's huge.)

Analog HD?? Nobody* does that. ATSC even over coax is digital. But an ATSC converter is probably expensive. You can do HDMI over coax for a few hundred bucks per end point, but the total cost could be just as much plus you need an HDMI splitter.

* Barring some obscure or proprietary solution.
