Well i recently got a Pre2, and i'm having a problem playing *some* m4v files.

So i transferred two large m4v files onto the Pre2, in the same folder. Both files are 1.5GB.
Both files were encoded using Handbrake:
-H.264, 640X480 and 640X352, 1.5kbps video
-AAC 128kbps, 44.1 sample rate

The 640X480 video plays just fine. The 640X352 video does not. I'm baffled. Any suggestions?

Cheers

I've had iPhones/iPods pull the same crap. Never did get to the bottom of it consistently. I suspected the data rate at one point but it didn't pan out IIRC.

I have a Pre 2 as well and it freaks out if the resolution doesn't scale properly to the screen.

An observation..... i noticed the files which are throwing up the error(s) on the Pre2 are cell-shaded animations (which were encoded using the exact same setting as the live action ones that play just fine). Any suggestions anyone?
