Hey,

I have a question I had hoped someone has a good answer to: I consider buying a new scanner, as the last time we bought a new one was many years back. Googling a while, I found scanners often have the function 'Copy to Print', so - as far as I understand - you put your paper/whatever on the scanner, press the button, and the scanner figures out the best settings, scans, and sends it directly to your printer (without the scanner being a scanner/printer-combination, it's simply a scanner, but it tells the printer to print though).
Sounds cool, practical for normal people who simply want to copy something quickly at home, without going through the various steps in between.

Does this work on a Mac? I understand with Image Capture you can scan with many scanners, I've found the list; but something like this?
We copy often enough and that's one of the reasons my parents really favor combinations, although I don't always find them to be so great.

Perhaps someone knows... (or perhaps there's something like a workaround, like putting your paper on the scanner, then open an AppleScript or something, don't know...)

Thanks! Pete

It works with the Canons and HPs I've tried.

My Canon does this without any drivers installed, via Image Capture.

Alright... Do you think you could be a bit more detailed? How does this work? Do you just press a button on the scanner, do you have to open Image Capture before that? Something like this, I had hoped for...

Thanks already!
