To any winos out there-
any recommends on PDA software which would both catalogue a winecellar
and evaluate vintages for domestic and foreign wines?
Thanks.

Check this out: Pocket Vineyard
I have thought about getting it--into wine tastings, etc., here--but haven't taken the plunge.
If you do check it out, let me know what you think!

Hello Indigo Boy,
Yes, I have been to their website. It appears to me that they do not have a "cellar" capability unless one wishes to keep that in the "tasting notes" section. there are other programs which do the cellar bit but without vintage capabilities. it seems that one must have two programs.
thanks for your reply.

Hey, Boanerges (or should I say "Son of Thunder"?) :
I checked out Pocket Vineyard myself, downloading the 30-day demo. I like many of its features, but of course, you are correct that it doesn't store cellar info.
You may want to contact its developer (neohand) and suggest that addition.
Also, if you find other wine PalmOS software out there, post it here. I'd love to see what else is out there (and I'll post anything I find too).
Thanks.

Hi Indigo Boy,
You surprised me. Not many Aramaic ( or Bible) students out there!
I have tried: CellarPro, Pocket Vineyard, Virtual Wine Cellar, and Winemaster. They were all difficult to use or figure out, or lacked suitable editing capabilities to add regions, had too many producers, or were Calif. only, etc.
The one which I have kept is WinematePalm, done by two chaps in Australia. But it is early, I have only entered a few wines and am still evaluating. You might try the other programs; you may be more sophisticated with the PDA than I.
I may jump for PocketVineyard for its vintage evaluations. Nice to have at a restaurant. I used to keep up on all the vintages, regions, etc. but it is too time consuming along with my other interests, and the West Coast wines incl. Washington are so good now it is hard to get a really disappointng bottle. (Maybe I am less critical?)
let me know if you find any goodies.
JV
