Apple next imac will most likely be a convergence of an imac, pda and the ibook. I would guess that apples next product will be a lcd tablet type device that will easlily fit in and out of a cradle or docking-station like contraption on the desktop and the cradle will have full firewire and usb connection for printers keyboards and etc.
Apples new 15 inch or smaller lcd tablet device will have airport pre-installed to connect with the cradle when not connected to the base and have os x, hand writting recognition, limited voice recognition. That lcd tablet will have the hard drive and disk drives biult-in to make it completly portable around the house or office but will also connect into it cradle like and function like and ordinary imac.
its only a guess.

Uhhh.... I dunno... Hmmm can anyone think of any reason why he would have come up with such a seemingly random time span...

Uh we will "now" because new iMac's are coming out at the next keynote (the 18th of July).
If the next iMac isn't a tablet then I guess you were wrong.

Regardless of what the new iMac may or may not be, it ain't a gonna be a PDA. Some folks have no idea of what a PDA is supposed to look like, do, or act like. If it's a tiny desktop PC, it can't do it's job as well as it could if it were... a PDA.

No PDAs from Apple this year.
MacNN has a story stating that Apple will offer rebates if you buy a Handspring Visor with a Mac. Therefore, Apple certainly wont be introducing anything that will remotely compete with a Handspring PDA. But I still have hopes for a tablet.

An Apple PDA would be great, but I think it will be a long time coming.
