I realize that this has already been flogged to death with a wet noodle more times than anyone cares to count, but you know, after all this yack about the iPod, I'm brought back to thinking about an MP3 player application for MessagePad 2000's and 2100's. Surely a 162MHz StrongArm processor coupled with Paul's ATA drivers (for larger storage capacities), can handle such an application?!? No? I think so... Does anyone know if such a project is actively being pursued? This is really one of the last things that the Newton can't do (yet).

Cheers,
Goggles

Good news, somebody did a conversion but the MP3.pkg files were 8-12 megs. each. Bad news, not too many large memory cards out there and not too many audio out adapters(besides it's still mono.). Oh well. BTW, the mod pkgs. do sound decent.

Not MP3, but the best you're going to get.
