i just recently purchased a visor deluxe (i'm sure you already know) but anyways in the palm folder in my HD there is a folder with holidays listings. unfortunately after trying a dozen times i found out that these listing do not work on a mac, only a winbloze machine. (will not hot synch into the visor, fails everytime) are there any 3rd party software programs that will work for the visor and are compatible for the mac that will give the holiday listings? and any suggestions for other software that you consider "must have" please list them. i just got "hackmaster" and "noah lite" and i love them both! thx in advance

I am puzzled: I didn't have any difficulties installing these files (once I realized what they were!). How did you go about trying to install them? I found that I could not double-click them--they had to be dragged into the "Install Handheld Files" window. I installed the Christian and U.S. holidays, and they show up just fine in my Datebook +.

As to "must-have" software: I really enjoy AvantGo . (Though some people here have reported difficulties with it, it has worked just great for me.

But I have found tons of other software at

PalmTracker,
Freeware Palm,
Handango.com,
and
PalmGear.com.

Much of the software has been free or at least very inexpensive.

Have fun exploring!

I have a Visor Deluxe as well. Installed the Palm 4.0b and installed the Holiday files without any problem. I double clicked them and installed on the Palm Desktop program fine.

All I can think of is that perhaps the files themselves are corrupted. You could try reinstalling them to your Mac from the Handspring CD and then see if they work.
