As I said in another post, I'm going to be getting a Newton 2100 soon. I was going to connect it to my LC 575 via serial, but all the people on the Newtontalk list encouraged me to use ethernet. My only question is what card should I buy? Oh, and what software do I need to snyc with the newt? Thanks.

The list of 'officially' supported cards is very short. Like only the
3com 589 and the Farallon card. There have been brave developers
who have written drivers for other cards.

You should check on the Newton archives or on google.

Here is a good start point: http://www.chuma.org/newton/ethernet/

You end up setting the system up to use Ethertalk.

I'm using the Farallon ethernet card with my MP2000 and it works great. It took no time to set it up and it is so much faster and reliable than the serial connection. I got it directly from Farallon last year (2001) when they still offered them on their website.

Good luck.
