Just wondering...
I've seen the various drivers for Ethernet cards that are compatible with the Newton. However, I haven't seen any drivers for 802.11 cards like the WaveLAN cards, Airport, etc. Is there anyone currently working on this? ?

Searching the archives over there I see a lot of discussion about trying to get this to work but I don't see any real solutions. Do you have a more precise pointer?
Thanks.

Not finished. Laurent D. is finishing the driver, he's too busy to 'post' his current results. I can't wait!!!

I'm also excited about this. I'd be willing to work on debugging or even writing code if I had some way to get started. I'm not exactly a guru @ programming for the Newton but if someone's got source they'd like to share, I'd be glad to help.

See Victor Rehorst's Newton Ethernet Resources page, which are always very current for all ethernet matters, including 802.11
http://www.chuma.org/newton/ethernet/
In the Newton driver arena, there is Laurent Daudelin, but there is also Hiroshi Noguchi. You will find information regarding Hiroshi's work on Victor's pages, too.
Regards,
Walter.

Major snag in my plans for Newton/802.11 interoperatability...
If only I had known that OS 2.0 devices couldn't use the Newton Ethernet Enabler, perhaps I wouldn't have ended up purchasing my 130 and held out for a 2x00 or eMate. Is it possible to upgrade to OS 2.1 or find away around this?

To get more information about which Newton supports what go to the newsgroups:
