Hi Everyone!

Is anyone using a conduit for Lotus Notes on their Palm or Handspring. We've got a gal here that has a Palm M505 that needs to get Lotus Notes e-mail into her Palm.

It would be helpful for me with my Handspring Visor Deluxe as well.

Any information, hints, tips or suggestions would be great! Thanks in advance!

Well, the going on this is rough.

Just to give an update on the contacts and dead-ends, here it is:

Palm

I talked with two people from Palm. The one in Sales said that if we had a modem and dailed into an ISP then we would be able to get the Lotus Notes e-mails) We want to sync them.

The second person was from technical support. He stated that we would not be able to sync a Mac with the Palm. When asked if their 4.0 beta would support it he said that he didn't know and it probabbly wouldn't. It was then mentioned a program call Multi Mail could sync but that it wasn't "very reliable". About a minute later when I asked to verify it would work with Lotus Notes he said no . He directed me to IBM / Lotus

IBM

Contacted IBM and was then given a direct number to Lotus.

Lotus

The web site states that there is a program for syncing called Easy Sync. But it does not support Macs. Asked if there was another solution she stated that Puma Technology had a program that would work for the Mac to sync to Palms.

Puma Technologies
The representative I spoke with said that do not support the Mac. She wasn't sure why Lotus was giving out mis-information.

So.... I'm back to square one.

If anyone has experience with this or a suggestion please run it by me! Thanks in advance!

Install Virtual PC and Lotus Notes client for Windows. Make sure the Lotus Notes user ID file is copied if it's local. Just have her fire up VPC whenever she needs to Sync up email. You could also turn email forwarding on to send a copy to another supported email client that will work with MultiMail Pro for Mac. The Lotus server also has the capability of using POP services so any email client will work with it. Our corporate IT department will not turn it on because the Lotus admins would rather make everything more complex for their own job security!
