The Newton is great. What are Newton users using to connect to a powerbook (TiBook)? i.e do you use an ether card? , connect indirectly through iTools file transfer?, floppy, CD, USB-Serial convertor cable? IR?. etc. Some light on this would be enlightening.

The Newton doesn't neccesarily synch in the same way that a Palm on PocketPC does, it is much more like a network connection for back-up purposes and any synching of e.g. names/dates is secondary to that in my experience.

All Newtons have a serial port, and with a serial port on your mac (either built in or added via USB, you should be able to connect to Newton Connection Utilities in OS 9. You can also connect this way over Ethernet, and I gather, those with compatible Ethernet cards (you need Newton drivers), find this to be very useful.

The 2xxx Newtons had an irda port. Some people have had success using this to connect also.

You can get lots of info about this on the Newton FAQ: http://www.chuma.org/newton/faq/
