Lately I have been having problems syncing my Palm IIIxe with my computer (Mac OS 9.2.1, Palm Desktop 2.6.3)

The Palm Displays:

"Connecting with the Desktop using Direct Serial"

and doesn't go any further than that, then eventually times out.

Using some combination of the following:

when I open hot sync manager, turn it "off"

then unplug the USB adapter (the one from Palm) and plug it back in.

then turn it back "on"

it will eventually start working. Does anyone have a clue why? I can't figure it out at all. I was thinking AvantGo, but even when I remove it, no change.
I always use protection when fscking my Mac... Do you?

I hope you have everything backed up, when this happened to me, I did a soft reset. If still is, I'd remove the batteries and do a hard reset.
good luck
At least at the Asylum, they treat me with respect.
