Have upgraded newton 2000 that whenever I turn it on, it says that it needs immediate service, it has lost its factory calibration and will not charge the battery until it is serviced.


Has anyone heard of this and is there something I can do or do I need to plan to send it back to Apple

Hmmm, never heard of that one before. Search the FAQ at http://hometown.aol.com/thisolnewt/index2.html to see if there is anything on that. Sorry I can't help, but I've never had that problem.

I've never had that problem either, but it's pretty bad if you want to recharge the OEM batts. If not then nothing else to worry about, just use it like usual. The 'answer' was posted on newtontalk listserv, check on www.unna.org and use the limited google search.
