When will Palm ever get it right? Rumors have it that this device will have a 160x160 res. screen (as will the m515 and m135).

I want a 320x320 resolution screen, black and white or color, with a wide range of networking capabilities. Add an expansion slot, and make it light weight and I'm sold! I'd buy a Sony Clié if they didn't use those damned memory sticks and they were compatible with Palm Desktop for the Mac.

A jump from 160x160 to 320x320 must cost like, what, a total of $5? How about some decent memory - 16 MB minimum. Their engineers must still be controlled by the marketing department: "We have to keep it simple - the user doesn't want gadgetry and all that techno-non-sense." Umm, yeah, but not if it actually enhances the user experience!



I'll probably end up getting a Sony. Just hope I can get it to sync up properly.

Agreed. If the i705 had 16MB and a color screen (I don't even mind the 160x160 resolution) I'd probably want one. I think Palm is waiting for OS 5 to start putting out handhelds with high resolution displays. A shame for them, a boon for Sony.

As it is, I bought a Clié T615. Works with the OS X Beta version of Palm Desktop out of the box. Not sure what the problem is with memory stick anymore, it seems to be catching on a lot faster than SD/MMC is. Generally costs less as well.

m500 owner here, ready to go in for color, but NOT the m505 kind of grainy color.

I am looking at buying the SONY - there I have said it - Clie T615C when it finally hits Europe. From what I have been reading, it's "almost" a killer machine.

Palm eat your heart out. I am just not prepared to wait until they wake up, if ever.
