I am a new Sony Clie owner (frankly, if Palm had a great screen and thumb wheel like the Clie, I'd buy a Palm).
Anyway, should I type all my phone info into Palm Desktop and hotsync it to the Clie, or should I type all my phone info into Entourage or Outlook and hotsync it? I would normally never use Outlook or Entourage unless I needed to for my Clie.
Thanks for your help.

First of all, congratulations on your new Clie' (why is it that everyone congratulates someone on a new gadget?)!!

I haven't *seriously* used a PDA in a while up until about a week ago when I received my NR70V. Here's the deal, if you're running OS X then I would type all of your contacts into Entourage. As much as everyone despises Microsoft, they have some great stuff for the Macintosh. Also (to me this is really important), you can get your email from Entourage to your Clie and sync it back up to your machine for future delivery. Since there is no conduit for OS X's Mail, Entourage is really the only decent alternative unless you run Classic. Also, Palm Desktop isn't very feature-rich, is it? Doesn't it seem like you're missing something when you look at it? How I wish Franklin Covey would release their desktop software for the Macintosh.

Does a Clie sync with Entourage in OSX? I know my Palm doesn't.

I am waiting for Jaguar when the Addressbook is a central repository for all of my contacts. I will start to use whatever app works with the revised addressbook out of the blocks. Hopefully mail.app will get a nice revision and have a palm conduit. Mail almost works for me now although I would agree that Entourage is nice. I can't see MS working with the addressbook feature for quite awhile and the same for palm.

Hi Redleaf,
Since you said that you don't normally use entourage or outlook, I would say type it into Palm Desktop and sync it (no need to use entourage or outlook, especially if you don't have them , because that would cost some $$$, and Palm desktop is free). Also, if you are using OSX, you can't synch with Entourage X until July 15th (not even a beta conduit from MS yet).
I think you'll do fine with Palm Desktop for calendaring, Notes, tasks and contacts
good luck!

The Entourage conduit for OS X won't be out until July 15th.
