okay, seeing this on palm/mac forums everywhere.
upgraded to palm desktop 4.0 (a palm Vx, powerbook G3, OS 9.2.2)...
and the palm serial-to-usb adapter.

like a lot of people, could not hotsync. error message #1852402768.
finally went back to 2.6.3...no hotsync. cleared out EVERYTHING, went back to 2.5...
etc etc
about a dozen installs/uninstalls/reinstalls later, i am back to 4.0.

& just hotsynced. the only thing different this time:
on the Vx, th 3.5.3 update was installed with the very first attempted hotsync with desktop 4.0.
found the installer on the palm (in unfiled home files), deleted it...
and hotsync worked.

everytime before, nothing was backed up (address, etcetc)

hope this is a permanent thing...does this work for anyone else??
