Can't sync IIIc to OS X Palm - why?

I downloaded the Palm beta but find nothing will work to sync the IIIc data to it.

Any thoughts on what is the fix in OS X?

I trashed my Palm OS 9 version to make room for this, having read you can't have both on the same machine.

That tends to HAPPEN when you download something that ends with -BETA.... I cant get my Handspring Visor to work with it either....
