Hi all,

I'm finally ridding of my PC and the last thing I need is a way to get a USB connection for my Palm Vx. Preferably, it would have USB speed transfers and charge, but just syncronizing would be good enough. It has to be compatible with OS X (yes, I know a million conduits are missing; if I can just sync I'll be happy). What are my options, if any? I'm assuming the Palm USB Cradle won't fit my Vx...

you need the Palm USB Connect Kit, it's a genuine palm product and works like a charm (it's cheap too)
it's just a serial-usb adapter so you'll keep your cradle and charger.
It works fine in osx as the drivers are installed with Palm Desktop 4 for Mac OS X.

Does the USB Connect Kit adapter still limit transfer speeds to that of a serial connection? In other words, still a lot slower than my wife's Visor USB sync?

the palm serial-to-usb kit works fine, the speed is determined by the usb port (the serial adapter is just that, an adapter)

works perfectly with palm desktop 4.0

You say the drivers are installed for MacOS X. I tested the beta with my Vx and USB adapter on my iMac DV+ running OS X and it didn't work, because the damn software didn't see the Palm. So, did I do something wrong or did this get fixed somewhere between the beta and the final release?

i had a little trouble at first too, the palm couldn't establish a connection with the hotsync software. so i tried unplugging-the-re-plugging the adapter, that fixes it, though sometimes it reverts to odd behaviour.
