Does anyone know anything about any sort of future for Newton OS or the platform in general? I'm faced with another "which PDA to buy" fiasco to replace my aging palm 5 and I'm just sick of all the poor choices. I'd just love to see a NOS 3.0 or something using the newton technology.

Newton isnt dead yet. just recently paul guyot ( www.kallisys.com ) released the ata driver, allowing use of cheap ata compact flash cards rather than expensive linear flash memory. theres a few other developers who are making stuff here and there, though not a whole lot. but there is definately still a significant following, the newton (especially a 2x00) is a very unique unit. i sold mine a short while ago for money reasons, but im intending to get another once i sell my stuff.

I don't really care about the Newton one way or the other but I've gotta give you credit for the Lewis Grizzard-inspired topic. Mad smiles all the way around
Yeah, about those TPS reports, didn't you get the memo?

Apple canned it years ago. Apple has said it doesn't want to get into the PDA market. The Newton is totally dead. Dead dead dead.
