Is anyone using a Wi-Fi (airport/WaveLan) enabled PDA, and if so, how successfully does it communicate with Macs.

I'm thinking about the Toshiba e740, since my office and home both have WaveLan, and it would be great to have e-mail/surfing from a PDA. The question is, do any (Pocket PC) PDAs function with Macs (i.e sync, or
even just to back-up files).

Is there any alternative to the Pocket PC that provides WiFi?

Cheers,

A Newton 2000 or 2100 will do WiFi with a stock Lucent WaveLan silver or other similar card. Probably not what you're looking for, but these 5 year old Newtons kick the sh*t out of modern PDA's for features and ease of use.

PocketMac Pro is now available here. I haven't used it, and I haven't heard anything about the professional edition. Also, I don't know if it can perform wireless syncs and data backup, but it is worth checking out. I'm sure if you send them an email they can answer any questions you have.

Hi,

Yes, it can perform wireless syncs

The first release of the Pro Edition does have a few bugs, most of which we expect to have fixed by week's end.

This would be incredible ...
