I am considering buying a Clie. Could you tell me if there are any issues syncing it with OSX. Do you need any 3rd party software to do it? Does it sync easily? I heard that you need to manually put all the bundled software on it. Is this correct? Are you able to mount the memory stick? I am particularly looking at the new PEG-NR70 but would be interested in feedback also on the 615.

HI,
You PM me same question, so here we go.
I have used T615 for about 2 months and PEG-NR70 for 2 days now. Under OS X, T615 sync with Palm desktop without any problem. I have not tried yet with PEG-NR70. I'll give it a shot later on. You don't need any 3rd party software to sync with Palm desktop. You NEED 3rd party software like Missin' sync (not sure the name) when you want to mount Memory stick. I have no idea about this one.
As for a bundled software, yes, you have to manually install them but it's as easy as using Palm so no sweat on this matter.
As for a PEG-NR70 goes, I recommened you go for T615 now and upgrade later to newer model. It's big (compared to T615) and battery life is a JOKE.
Go with T615 and I guarantee you gonna love it. PEG-NR70...hmm...wait until it comes up with strong arm chip and Palm OS 5? Just my 2 cent.

Did you install the bold font on your T615? I recently bought the T415. The thin font is OK in bright light, but hard to read off the backlight. I remember reading in some forum that there was a bold font available somewhere, but it's not on Sony's Clie support site. Know where to get it/set it up?
Also, do you get audio using gmovie? regards.......joe

The PEG-NR70 is sony's new PDA isn't it? Well i do like the look of it, but the one problem I have seen with it beside the old technology, is the fact sony uses memory stricks... Is there any better way to hold data in them, I would be interested in using it as a MP3 player too...
Any other products you can sugest?
Thanks...

Now that 128 MB sticks are under $60 (just bought 2 Lexar branded sticks at CompUSA), it's a fairly cheap way to add lots of memory space for MP3's, extra programs, etc. 1 year ago, when the 64 MB sticks were $150, cost was prohibitive - no longer!
For me it works great - since I already have a Sony MiniDV camcorder and Sony digital camera, each of which uses memory sticks, so I can swap 'em around!

Here's a thread about someone complaining about the NR70 not working under OS X. Although it seems to have been hijacked by troll.
