Has anyone got any info out of Avantgo about an conduit for Palm
and OS X ? I emailed their support two or three times without reply.

I wouldn't hold my breath, but I would guess yes, eventually.

OS X is still strongly in a growing phase, as it stands, I still rarely use it myself.

I just noticed this on the Avantgo site:

They sound like they are having problems writing a conduit. I have quoted a bit below but omitted all the stuff about deleting Palm 4 and reinstalling 2.5.3 etc !

Palm should help them out as they are losing at least one sale
from me. I would like to buy a 515 but without Avantgo and
Doc's To Go I won't really use it enough to justify the upgrade
so I am hanging off to wait for the new machines and Palm OS 5.

I upgraded to Mac OS X and the new Palm 4.0 and can no longer get my AvantGo data, does AvantGo work on the Palm 4.0 software for Mac?


The answer is No. The problem is that our installer is not able to build a conduit in the Palm Hot Sync manager with the new Palm 4.0 software for Mac. We have contacted both Palm and Apple regarding this issue. We hope to support this platform in the future but do not know for sure if/when we will. If/when this feature become available we will post information on our site We have found that downgrading to Palm 2.63 and not using Mac OS X you can make it work. Our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause in the interim.

I asked and was told no development was planned, but they would keep the platform as a possibility in the future.
