I recently began syncing my Palm 505 with Entourage in OS X. I've noticed that a lot of the data does not get moved over correctly.
Eg. Today, after a synch, I noted that several of my contacts had changed without me doing anything to provoke a change:
1 friend, Adam, had his phone number deleted from the palm device. A couple people had one or two of their phone #'s deleted from the palm (Mobile, work and home). Some people also had all their numbers and email stay the same, but the field in the Palm all read work.
When I went to Entourage I saw the numbers were still where they belonged and everything seemed okay. So I synched again, hoping entourage would add the phone numbers, but it didn't. I don't get this. It makes so little sense to me.
The only way I could get the phone numbers in to the palm was to do so manually (ie entereing the numbers in to the palm device.
I have been saving the changes in entourage, and my conduit is set to synchronize (not Handheld overwrites or Entourage overwrites).
Any ideas why I cannot synch properly?
--------
After posting this I got an idea. I decided to synch such that entourage overwrites the handheldI now have a situation where entourage has all the data for my contacts, but my palm does not.
I've only looked through a few of the names, but I already notice this:
Some peoples's addresses are missing in the palm, their addresses are in entourage still, but not my palm. It also is not consistant between leaving out home/work addreses. That is some people who have a home address in entourage do not have it in my palm. Other people whohave a home address have it in bothe my palm and entourage. Ditto with work addresses. I have checked to make sure that those missing an address have a default address in entourage. AlsoI find it off that some have their home address in my palm and others have their work address. My settings in the the conduit call for home addresses to be synched.
Odd.
