The Fujitsu Siemens Pocket LOOX (a WINCE 2002 device) seems to have a CF Typ I+II slot which can support GPS and, crucially, WaveLan modules.

Is there any reason this *wouldn't* work with an airport base station? As my group uses airports, and our campus has WaveLan everywhere, and this would be great.

Are there other machines that can do this? (not the compaq which doubles in size, please).

How good is synching between a Win Pocket PCs and OS X at the moment. Can it be done over USB? Airport?

thanks for any info/thoughts ...

Not sure on that particular device, but my iPaq talks happily to my basestation. As long as it is 802.11b, it should work fine.
