Until Apple comes out with a 2-lb mini-PowerBook, I'm going to need a PDA and a PB with me on my trips. The Palm synchs great, of course; and with a keyboard, does nicely for short typing stints in coach seats.
I would gladly give a Psion 7 or a keyboard-PocketPC unit a try if they had decent synching, but they don't.
Wishful thinking: By now, the Newton should have had a Palm-size manifestaton and a Clio-size one, both with color screens, all-day batteries, and wireless modems...

Newton did have a palm size unit ready for production around the time it was axed... it was called the Messagepad LC... a low cost, one chip handheld. Unfortunately Apple passed it up to produce the eMate which went along with the MP2000. If Apple would have done the LC, Newton might still be "alive" today.

The MP2000 and eMate are almost exactly as you wish, batteries last 24+ hours, Clio-sized eMate and [cough] almost [/cough] palm sized Messagepad, and you can use wireless modems in each... but they dont have color screens.

I had heard a rumor that the 2x00 series has color support built into it. They do not have a color screen to handle the option. This was do to the cost of color LCD back then.

Any thoughts??

We were just a bunch of sawgie old men eating egg salad sandwitches in a card board box, playing tease the wild wolverine in a confind space.
