Hi everyone! Does anyone know if someone hacked a way to sync a Newton MP device to work with Palm Desktop? I know you can sync the info from a Newton to the Mac using Mac Connection Software, But I think it would be cool to be able to use Palm Desktop instead. I'm sure it would be hard to do. If I knew how to program I would try. Even if it took me months and months. Or does anyone know of some software close to the interfase and easy navigation to Palm Desktop that the Newton can use? *Note: For those who wnat to know, I'm using a Newton MP110. I'm waiting for the MP2000, so I don't know how the interface and sync software works for the MP2000 and Newton OS 2.0. Thanks!

ps For those who don't know you can download Palm Desktop from http://www.versiontracker.com just type in Palm Desktop in there search field. It's Freeware!

You dont even need a hack; the file that Palm Desktop puts out is compatable with NCU. Just import the Palm Desktop doc into NCU and sync to your Newt.

Thanks for the info! Can you send the data from the Newton back to the Palm Desktop?

I really dont know, I would assume so. I keep all my contact info etc only on my Newton, so I dont use Palm desktop myself.
If you find out it does/does not, let me know

I exported my Newton Notes, Dates, Names using NCU and it opens in Palm Desktop natively (remember, it used to be Claris Organiser).

In order to get ALL three items into Palm Desktop from your Newton as you would want and normally expect, you must open one (Names, for instance) with the open command and then import the remaining ones.

try this: http://www.info-newt.com/backissues/1999/19990328.html

I still haven't tried getting Palm Desktop to work with my Newton yet. I just got my MP2000, but I did find this info. Give it a try. I will once I get more organised! Please post if you have success. I'm going to post when I try this out.
