Hi All,

I'm a Psion user (a very nice, but too large, 5Mx), based in the UK

I want to get a Palm Vx, chiefly for size and the greater amount of software (and the much better Mac support).

I have one chief concern: will the Palm Vx communicate via infrared with my Motorola Triband phone (a beauty, with a modem built-in). My Psion will use the phone's modem (via infrared) to go online (email, web etc). A really useful feature! Will the Palm Vx do the same?

Also, I can compose SMS messages on the Psion and beam them to the phone which will then send them. I can also download SMS messages from the phone to the Psion and read them there (much bigger screen :-)

Any other European users out there, perhaps using the Palm with this very popular phone?

There isn't a driver to do that, I don't think.

I don't think the Palm is compatible with many phones. I know someone hacked their Nokia to grab the schedule off of the Palm, but that was a custom driver.

The answer is no, it will not work. I think the best way is to use your Psion.

Does the Motorola phone have an adapter to use it as a regular phone line? If it does, perhaps you could use the Palm modem with the device. But no, you can't do it via infrared.

That ability is important enough for me to not go Palm. You saved me some bucks :-)
