For some reason I guess I never set up my Palm IIIe to use my Outlook Express 5.0 mail on my desktop. I am trying to get that conduit so that I can hotsync my incoming mail to my Palm but I am having no luck at all. I tried a custom install of my Palm desktop installer but still no sign of the MAIL conduit and no prompt asking me to set up Palm with my desktop Email program. How do I get this conduit back, I have the program MAIL on my Palm but I cannot use it, I guess becuase for some reason I do not have the conduit for it.

I think the conduit is in a folder within the OE folder. It is not installed by default.

You cannot synch mail to your Palm OS device using the conduit that comes with OE 5. That only synchs your address book (and it works nicely, for what it does). To synch mail, you'll need to use a 3rd party conduit. The only such animal that I know of that works with Macs is Actual Software's MultiMail Mac conduit ($30) http://www.actualsoft.com/ .

Yes, it truly sucks that we have to pay $30 extra for what Wintel folks can do with the built-in software, but that's just the way it is. :-(

I'm having issues installing the OE5 conduit; after it's setup, any attempt to check/change conduit settings with HotSync Manager results in "Program Error -2807".

Trashing the OE5 conduit installed into "Conduits" (in "Palm") fixes the problem.

Anyone else have this problem or know of a fix?

I have the same problem with the error -2807 with the OE conduit...I don't know what's up with it.

Like JudiS217 said, the answer is a third party conduit like MultiMail Conduit by ActualSoft. I have it and it works like a charm with Outlook Express. Unfortunately there is no support yet for Entourage. Some folks have reported success changing the scripts and completely eradicating Outlook Express. That way when MultiMail looks for OE you can steer it to Entourage instread. I haven't tried this since I got the Omnisky modem and now get my email directly on the Palm. Expensive, but neat.
