I have an iMac, Mac OS 9 and a Palm IIIx running Palm OS 3.0. I have never had a problem 'syncing the two using the USB adapter.

However after I installed Yahoo! Messenger, and I restart the machine, I can no longer HotSync.

After snooping around I figured out that can only 'sync again after I entirely remove YM.

Has anyone seen this?

I suspect that it might be an issue with the serial ports though I can't seem to find any evidence backing this up.

I sent an email to Yahoo, and we'll see what they say.

If there's anyone out there that has both an iMac & a palm and checkout and see if this happens on their machine that would be good to know.

Does the Yahoo messanger install any extensions? This could possible interfere with the syncing program and its extentions.
