I am using the following soft and hardware: Rev. A iMac, Mac OS 9.0.4, Palm Desktop 2.6, Keyspan USB PDA Adapter with version 2.1 drivers and a Palm IIIxe with Palm OS 3.5.

When I upgraded my Mac OS from 8.6 to 9.0.4, the HotSync process stopped working. So I reinstalled the Palm Desktop and the latest drivers for the Keyspan USB PDA Adapter. It's still not working.

Any suggestions? Thoughts? Or better, solutions?

TIA,
Escher

Until we get a 3 lbs sub-PowerBook, the 12-inch PowerBook will do.

Try reinstalling the hotsync manager and the keyspan software. For some reason Mac OS 9.0.4 doesn't really get along with Hotsync...

Sometimes when you reinstall a lot of software, the HotSync software loses track of which port it's supposed to use. You may want to try choosing HotSync menu->HotSync submenu->Setup, clicking on "Serial Port Settings," and making sure that local sync port is set to KeySpan USB DB9.

Check you don't have Filesharing switched on. I use 9.0.4 on a G4 with HotSync 2.6.1 and a Handspring Visor. With FS on, hotsync just hangs up. Switched off, no problem.

Good luck!

Nic: You rule! Turning off File Sharing solved all of my HotSyncing problems in one strike. What a relief. Thank you for the (correct) suggestion.

Cheers,
Escher

My wife's M100 needs to be pluged into the bottom port into the iMac. Wont work with the USB hub.
