and the Handspring site only sells em in 5packs. with shipping, that works out to $25 bucks or so... too much! I already have another big n clunky combo pen/stylus/pencil unit, so I don't want to pay for the expensive replacement styluses I found on outpost... None of the other mac retailers seem to sell the handspring ones.

Anyone know of a B&M retailer that sells em by onesies? It has to fit in the visor Deluxe case. Color matching is nice too. (ice.)

Failing that, would anyone want to buy the remaining 4 styluses from me?

can't believe it... only a few weeks... sigh.

Frustratingly, I know where I lost it, just can't find it! between my office and a conference room, it fell out! argh again.

Andi: They might make good gifts for your other Visor-owning friends...
Actually, I saw someone with long nails using a Palm sans stylus. DOn't know how long yours are. I've had mine surgically attached.

How did you lose it? Did it just fall out of it's silo? I worry about losing my stylus, I plunked out the $$ and bought the 5-pack so I have extras on-hand, got them at the store so no freight fees. Don't know if you can get them in singles, but you should be able to get the 5-pack for about $15 US or less.

Or maybe, find a store that sells them, and has perhaps torn one of the pouches, ending up with lots of loose ones (I had this happen when I was buying a 5-pack, the guy was 'rough' yanking it from the display 'hook', tore the bag, sent them all over the floor and under the counter etc.), see if you can haggle for one. Or for the stylus out of a 'demo' unit.

The stylus is held in place by a little (tiny) block of black foam rubber, down at the tip of the stylus. The foam is glued to the back of the motherboard. If you take the stylus out then peer down the silo you can just see the black 'square', it is on the side towards the face. If it got worn, it's surface would get smooth and 'slippery' and the stylus wouldn't be held in very well at all.

I've been looking at ways to improve the way it holds onto the stylus, but for now, mine seems to be working... Though I have had the stylus try and escape once; when taking the Visor from my purse the stylus caught on something, and got pulled out and flipped a few feet away.

I got an alarm that my meeting was due, pulled out the stylus to kill the alarm, then put it back. I must not have pushed it all the way in, in the rush to get to the ^T%*&( meeting... sigh.

Staples does carry the 5pack, so I can get em without shipping charges... Hmmm, Maybe I can "rip" a pack like you recommend, and just buy one... nah. knowing my luck, i'd get caught and accused of stealing em.

Perhaps I'll call it experience... can't share with other users, don't know any locally! and my fiance uses a <eww> Casseopia...

oh, and while I was searching, I found a cool thing... It clips on to the end of your finger, like a thimble, but has a stylus on it! Unfortunately,it was more than I wanted to spend.

Gee. I just bit the bullet and paid the $25. Thing is, I have sold 2 of the others and only have the ice and the orange left. I would be willing to send you one for $5 (the ice one maybe?) Are you in Toronto?

I haven't been a big fan of the multi-pen since my bad experience with the 4-color Bic in 4th grade, but the various pen/stylus combos on the market have led me to re-think that position. For less than $25 you get a stylus that feels better and works better.

I bought one off a friend here at work. He bought the 5 pack of nice metal ones. So I bought the clear one from him.

oh, darn it Eric, I too bit the bullet and bought the 5pack... should have waited! They were $16US at Staples.

Oh well,prepared for future clumsiness...

Did everyone know there is a screwdriver and a reset pin inside the official stylus? they unscrew. I never knew...

And I'm a poet... didn't know it...
