Yes this is an outdated question but here goes: Can I connect my Newton with my new G3 powerbook running O.S. 9.0? If so, where can I get the sofeware for it?

Hanging on to my Newton,

Well, theres 3 ways do that..

1. Serial - if you have a serial port on your powerbook, and a serial dongle for your newton, you can just connect them with a standard serial cable.

2. Ethernet - you can get an ethernet card for your newton and connect it through standard ethernet (the fastest way)

3. USB - if you dont have a serial port, you can get a USB-serial converter and connect the same way as serial.

unfortunately, you CANT connect to your powerbook thru IR. It was going to be implemented, but unfortunately never went through. It is possible to connect via sloup thru IR, but thats basically just terminal information and not easy to use for the non-developer newtoneer....
