Does anyone know if Palm data files can be shared across platforms? Specifically, can a Palm contact list exported from the Mac Palm Desktop be imported into the Windows version of the Palm Desktop software? Any ideas?

Can't be done. Palm Desktop for Mac and Palm Desktop for Windows are completely different programs.

Can't be done by exporting, but why not sync to the Mac and then sync to the PC? The Palm acts as the conduit, effectively transferring the data from one machine to the other.

I use a Windows 95 machine at work and a Mac at home. My Palm Vx is sync between the two and it works great. I have three copies of my data plus the backup files. Plus if the software that you want to download is not running on the desktop. You can download the .zip version, unzip and install as usual to the Palm from your Mac. Good luck.

I use a Palm V and sync with both my Mac Desktop Software as well as the PC Palm Desktop running under Virtual PC on the same computer. It works fine although I noticed my sync time was increased during the first sync on the new platform.

Thanks for the info. This case involved a client that wanted the the data file in order to access the contact list on a given deal. I'll tell him "no dice."
