Hey All-
I'm wondering if you guys know of any screen protectors for a Visor Deluxe. Like a film type protector, to protect the actual screen from being scratched. Not like a plastic cover, but like a thin sheet of something to be adhered to the Visor.
If this exists, and if any of you are using one, does it (a) decrease resolution on the screen, (b) decrease sensitivitey, or ummm...anything i should know?
Secondly, are there any products out there that claim to fix scratches on the screen?
I have some hair-width scratches that are annoying the HELL out of me on my Visor, and I want to do something about them.
Regards,
Adam

The thin film sheets do exist but I'm not sure what they are called or where you can find them over your way. I don't use them but a friend who does use them swears by them. I've actually played around on his Palm and found the film quite good.

They're called WriteRite or something to that effect, by Concept Kitchen. Available at CompUSA and the like for about $15 / 10 pk. Ouch! I use them on my Palm Vx and I can tell you there are good and bad factors.
First, they do an excellent job of protecting your screen. I get nutty if my screen has any marks like scratches, even faint ones. No chance of that with the protectors. They also actually improve graffiti recognition for almost everyone. They apply like a friction decal, like the stuff you simply slap on the inside of your car window, then peel off when you want. No glue or adhesive of any kind.
The downside is that they definitely degrade the sharpness of your screen. Because they're textured they are not as clear as saran wrap. You'll have to put up with a duller image, but by adjusting the brightness you can compensate somewhat. And no need for the cover that comes with your handheld. The protector is tough enough so you don't have to worry about it while it's in your pocket. Mine last about 1 1/2 to 2 months before it gets dirty and I need to apply a new one.

if your scratches are just in the graffiti area and youd like to prevent more, the "old trick" is a bit of removable scotch tape over the graffiti area. it prevents scratches and gives a nice frictiony feel. ive heard theres a product called "actis protect film" that is super clear and durable. the writerights like someone said are good, but cause a bit of blurry-ness.

WriteRight in the Philippines is a bit pricey, so I settled for DuraSeal adhesive plastic covers. They peel off nicely (cleans your screen when peeled off) and gives a nice "frictiony" feeling. Costs PHP75.00 (~US $1.50) for 2x4 meters.
When the friction is a bit too much, all you need is to rub the surface with your thumb. My guess is that the skin oil transfers to the surface and gives a much better writing surface feeling.

I swear by Concept Kitchen's WriteRight sheets, though I have a suggestion. Since I enjoy the clarity of my Palm's screen and I mostly use the stylus on graffiti, I cut the bottom part of the sheet and only protected the bottom part (where you write in graffiti). Thus I get the benefits of increased recognition, scratch protection where I need it most, and I still have the clarity of the screen. Of course, I have to be careful, but I only tap on the rest of the screen, not much dragging and scratching...

Do ya'll know of any alternatives to WriteRIGHTs? I saw one in use, and like, it really dulled the screen. Are there any that are more clear?
