... and it's pretty slick. This is my first up-close view and use of a Palm handheld. If I wasn't getting it through work, I probably would have done a little more hands-on research, but as it is, this thing is great.
I am a long-time Newton user, but I have to admit my MP 120 has seen less and less use. It's big, it's clumsy and I've never had all the extras you need to connect it and sync. it with a desktop calendar on my Mac.
Well, the m100 does this right out of the box (with the optional USB kit). So now all I have to do is enter all my contacts into the Palm Desktop software that came pre-installed on my iMac and I'll be all set. At work, I can install the same Palm software and I'll have my calendar at home, at work AND in my Palm.
I'll post more later as I start to use the m100.

Supah, sent you an email.
I got my m100 home tonight and didn't trust the Palm software that Apple had already installed on my iMac.
First I used the CD that came with the USB connection kit. Well, I should have know it was out of date... the box still had the OLD Palm logo on it (the P made with lines and dots). Something wasn't quite right and my iMac wound up freezing on me.
It was a temporary glitch. I re-installed the Palm software with the CD that came with the m100 and everything went fine. I hadn't entered too many things into it during the day today, but all that was there synced to the Palm Desktop software without a hitch.
The only thing that I'm confused about right now is keeping Outlook Express synced with the m100. At first things seemed to go fine. All of the Contacts in Outlook went into the handheld. But this data DID NOT show up in the Palm Desktop software. It took a bit for me to fing the "Conduit Settings" under the HotSync menu. Here I was able to force the handheld data to OVERWRITE the pc data. This brought everthing that went from Outlook into the m100, into Palm Desktop. I guess if you KNOW the handheld is the MOST up-to-date, this is the way to do the sync.
I've set some test Alarms, and I have a shopping list from my wife in the To Do list. We'll see how these work tomorrow.
Later.

I just noticed on my Palm M100 yesterday that there is no more mail program! I was trying to find a way to compose e-mail on the Palm and have it sync with the desktop and send through Outlook (I thought I could have done it with Multimail), but there is no more e-mail program on the Palm!! What gives?!

That might have been a marketing thing. They've targeted the m100 at the "less than Power-User group," so they may have thought these people are not composing emial on their Palms.
If this is true, I have to agree with them. I would never think of composing an email on my handheld. I'm just not in "email mode" all of the time. And when I am, I'm near my regular computer.

From the Palm m100 FAQ:
The Mail, Expense, and Network Hotsync applications have been removed from the Palm m100 handheld. Consumer research indicated that some users wanted the option to add these applications to their handhelds, while others found them unnecessary and complex. In fact, providing too many features can be overwhelming to new users and damaging to the overall user experience. Of course, as with all Palm handhelds, additional functionality (including e-mail and expense tracking) can be added at any time by simply purchasing any of the thousands of third-party Palm OS-based software applications available for download.

Personally, I think that Mail and Expense are by far the weakest programs included with Palm organizers. Palm m100 users won't be missing much.
