I've been having a problem with my Palm insisting on backing up Vindigo.prc everytime I sync, which adds several minutes to my sync time and is rather annoying. I've been exchaning e-mails with Vindigo tech support, and they have been very responsive, but as yet have not come up with a solution. I thought I'd try this forum to see if anyone else has experienced the same problem.

If I do ANYTHING with Vindigo, including something as simple as access the program and then exit right away again, the Vindigo.prc file is backed up during the next sync. If I do absolutely NOTHING with Vindigo, the backup doesn't happen (like it shouldn't!).

I've got MacOS 8.1, the latest Palm software (2.6.1) and the latest version of Vindigo (1.0.1). My Palm is a IIIxe with PalmOS 3.5.2. I've also got AdvantGo installed, which I understand can conflict with Vindigo on a PC, but Macs aren't supposed to have a problem with this. There is other stuff installed, but everything except Metro was installed since having the problem.

Please Help!!!

Do you mean where it dials into the the net to sync? If that's the case what I did was to set the conduit default to never sync. Then when I'm on line I set to to sync (just that once the default is still "do nothing") and get the updates.

I only sync via the HotSync cradle. Vindigo's FAQ has a question about backing up Vindigo.prc and states that it should only happen once (after initial installation). After that, it shouldn't be backed up anymore because the program itself doesn't change. Everything else on my Palm backs up as it should, once unless something changes. For programs, that means once only. But Vindigo.prc gets backed up everytime I sync after using the program
