Hi,
I use an iBook and a Psion palmtop, and would like to sync and backup the Psion.
Has anyone any suggestions or PIM software for the Mac that would be worth looking at.
I believe the palm platform is well supported, but I would like to stay with the Psion.
Any ideas would be welcome,
Thanks,
Tomo

I have a series 5mx and a series7, but use the 5mx as my main machine.
Both use EPOC 5 as the OS. I have a PC with psiwin installed, and could possibly install that onto VPC, which I have on my Mac, but I would like to sever the windoze ties if possible.
I will also nead an adaptor to get a USB input on the Mac.
Thanks in advance,
Tomo

Tomo,
First the bad news. So far as I know, there is no synchronization possible between a series 5 and a Mac. What is possible is backup. The software to accomplish this is called "MacConnect". It retails for $50-$60. As far as connecting via USB, Keyspan has a USB adapter that has worked well for me (with a Psion 3c and an iMac, as well as a FWPB). It retails for around $40. Once you've backed up, there is some file conversion freeware available from two sources: Enfour, and Atelier. This software allows conversion of text (word) documents only; no spreadsheet or contact support.
Now, the good news. Psion has re-examined the value of it's many Mac-owning users, and has announced that it will release new Mac software in Q1 2001. It is rumored to be much more comprehensive than MacConnect, and will have USB Support.Perhaps you can live with the VPC/PSIWin option until this new software is introduced.
I've had sucess using my 3c with the old PSIMac software, but this is little help to you. Here are some more resources that may help you:

Good luck. I think that the Psion is by far the most powerful PDA / handheld computer available, and is also the most Mac-like (Newton excepted). It's a sin that the company has overlooked it's Mac based users, but it looks like that's about to change.
