For my new G4 I got an ATEN USB-serial converter, in order to hook up my Palm cradle to it. With the USB extension called "PL2303" I still can't get hotsyncing to work. The HotSync Manager lists "Internal Modem", "PalmConnect USB", "Handspring USB", and "Modem Port USB".

As I am going to the HotSync Manager to see what specifically these options are, all of a sudden I see "PL-2303 USB-to-Serial Bridge", which had never been there before. This is after I unplugged and replugged the USB-serial adapter to force the loading of the driver. But hotsyncing still doesn't work.

At MacInTouch and elsewhere I have seen others reporting similar problems. I have so far not seen any definitive solutions. Do you know one?
